On 22 March World Water Day was celebrated and this year’s theme was ‘Water and Jobs’. With South Africa still in the grip of the worst drought in 30 years, the importance of water sustainability has been highlighted. Due to the effects of climate change, drought might become the new normal. The public and private sectors consequently need to take on the bold changes needed to address water security and sustainable job growth. Four fundamental changes are needed within the next year to grow a sustainable economy.
