Several agri events cancelled due to coronavirus

While the last week has seen several events being cancelled or postponed due to the restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the president’s announcement of a national lockdown last night further enhanced these restrictions. The agricultural community is, unfortunately, not exempt from this with several agri events being cancelled or postponed. Here is a summary of the agri events that have been affected:

Cancelled

• Qualité Awards Dinner (26 March)
• Fertasa Congress (23 April)
• SA Cheese Festival (25 – 27 April)
• Bloem Show (24 April – 2 May)

Rescheduled

• Royal Show – New date: 24 July – 2 August
• NAMPO Harvest Day – New date: 11 – 14 August
• The Water Show – New date: 20 – 21 August
• The Vet Expo – New date: 7 – 8 October
• Young Farmer Conference and Function – New date: TBC
• SA Stud Book Elite 2020 Awards Dinner – New date: TBC
